Is John Parry auditioning for a part as Captain Lash?

I have, by and large, avoided publishing on the blog photographs of people associated with Crickley taken outside the context either of Crickley Hill itself or Ullenwood. But this photograph of John Parry posing with a shovel outside a shed in the back garden of one of the many north London residences inhabited, at one time or another, by Dr Phillpotts, was too good to miss. Surely, given the shape he is throwing, John must have been auditioning to be the "Cavalier of the Shovel"? And if you ask me, he looks a shoo-in for the part...
