Arwel's shorts ...

I realise it's a bit early in the morning for this sort of thing but only Dr Ferris can account for his reasons for taking this photograph in 1980 of Arwel Barrett sporting his very splendid shorts.  I rather think that he used to get teased quite a lot about these shorts, which, with the benefit of hindsight seems wholly unjust: perhaps, as is so often the case in matters of fashion, it was simply a matter of timing.  There have certainly been periods in the last 30 years when shorts such as these have been the very height of fashion ...
