End of season 1983: JP in excelsis ...

Two cracking pictures from the Chronicler's archive: it doesn't look comfy but John looks happy enough to have a ride! From the tyre tracks it looks as though the JCB driver is reversing away from the camera in the bottom shot. Deconstructed huts lie behind against the drystone wall waiting to be stored away until the next season, so this must be right at the very end of the 1983 dig. No HSE Inspectors anywhere in view which is probably just as well...
