The finest imagineable view from 1972 ...
Many of the most famous Crickley postholes in the year of their original excavation. I assume, but stand to be corrected, that the small ziggurat on the right hand side of the picture is a series of walls of carefully lifted turf. Equally the bump at the top of the photo, a yard or two beyond the cutting edge, must also be a turf wall.
