Tent City

9 tents in this 1990 Phillpotts shot alone: I get the impression that more and more people elected for life under canvas  as the years went by: in the late 70s/ early 80s I don't recall this stretch of the long grass being called into play, I suppose because it was further from the dining hall and the ablutions block.  The buildings look almost freshly painted: compare the end of the kitchen block 9 years later here.
